File Preparation Guide
Updated October 7, 2026Preparing your files correctly means accurate color, sharp detail and nothing important cropped off.
File formats
- Ordering on the website: JPEG, PNG or WebP — up to the per-image limit shown in the order tool.
- TIFF, PSD, PDF or designed album layouts: contact us and we'll explain how to send them [To be confirmed: channel for large files — Google Drive, WeTransfer, Zalo…].
- Avoid re-compressing images; export high-quality JPEG (90% or higher).
Color
- Use sRGB and embed the color profile (ICC) when exporting.
- Adobe RGB or CMYK files are converted to the printer profile, so color may differ from your screen [To be confirmed: whether the lab accepts Adobe RGB / provides printer ICC profiles for soft-proofing].
- Uncalibrated screens are usually brighter than prints — lower your screen brightness when editing.
Print as is, or lab correction?
When ordering you choose, per item:
- Print as is: we print your file exactly, with no brightness or color changes. For studios editing on a calibrated screen — you are responsible for color.
- Lab color correction: a technician makes light brightness and white-balance corrections. Image content is not retouched (use our Retouching service for that).
[To be confirmed: whether the lab sends a test print / color proof before printing, and for which orders]
Resolution
- Aim for 300 dpi at the print size; 150 dpi minimum. Each product page lists the recommended pixel size for every print size.
- The order tool warns you when an image is below 150 dpi at the chosen size.
- Upscaling a small image in software does not make it sharper.
Cropping and safe margins
- The order tool locks the crop to the print size's ratio — drag the image to choose what to keep.
- Keep text, logos and faces at least [To be confirmed: safe margin in mm] from the edge.
- Stretched canvas and wrapped prints: the image near the edge wraps around the sides [To be confirmed: wrap width by frame depth].
- Albums, photo books, cards: add bleed [To be confirmed: bleed in mm, how album spine width is calculated from page count].
File names
Use plain names without accents or special characters, numbered in the order you want (e.g. 01-cover.jpg, 02-page1.jpg) — especially for albums and sets.
File retention
[To be confirmed: how long the lab keeps customer files after an order is completed, and when they are deleted]
